Bayern Munich begins pre‑season without any of its seven star forwards – manager Vincent Kompany warns of a World Cup‑related offensive issue. The season opener on July 20 and the training camp at Tegernsee (July 27‑30) are missed because none of the top attackers are fit.

Who is missing and why?

Harry Kane (32) and Michael Olise (24) logged 109 goals and 61 assists at the World Cup, yet both need rest after heavy minutes. Luis Díaz (29) is also on holiday and may only return after the Asia tour (August 1‑8). Additionally, Jamal Musiala (23) is in rehab after a metal‑plate removal from his left foot, while Lennart Karl (18) suffered a muscle‑bundle tear in his left thigh, sidelining him for at least eight weeks. Serge Gnabry (30) is only doing light work after an adductor rupture and targets a comeback at the start of August.

How does this affect the season?

Kompany’s plan to rest the Kane‑Olise‑Díaz trio means the remaining four attackers – including Thomas Müller and Leroy‑Sane – are currently all injured. Without those options, Bayern could be severely weakened for the Franz‑Beckenbauer‑Supercup on August 22. The manager therefore has to rely heavily on youth to fill the gaps.

What about new signing Ismael Saibari?

The 25‑year‑old Saibari, signed for roughly €50 million from PSV Eindhoven, suffered a suspected muscle‑fiber tear in his right thigh and is expected to miss three weeks. With no clear medical update, his summer involvement remains uncertain. Since Nicolas Jackson’s (25) loan back to Chelsea has ended, Bayern currently lacks any experienced alternative up front.

What options does Kompany have?

The coach can turn to returning striker prospect Arijon Ibrahimovic (20), who came back from a loan at Heidenheim. He may also promote more youngsters from the performance centre to stabilise the attack until the season starts. The coming weeks will decide whether Bayern stays competitive despite the injuries or only regains full firepower in August.
