Their last championship was secured in 2023/24 when Bayer Leverkusen unexpectedly claimed their first Bundesliga crown without losing a game. However, Bayern quickly regained control and won the following two seasons by significant margins of 13 and 16 points respectively.

The summer transfer window is still open for Bundesliga clubs until September 1, with several notable moves already completed. Notably, Ismael Saibari has joined from PSV Eindhoven, while Nathaniel Brown strengthened the full-back position after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt.
Bayern's financial muscle remains unmatched in German football, giving them a significant advantage over their rivals. Players like Harry Kane and Michael Olise provide reliable goal-scoring options, while the squad depth ensures they can compete across multiple fronts.
Title Defense Focus
Despite their strong squad, Bayern will have their sights set on defending their Champions League title as well. However, their focus remains firmly on winning the domestic championship. Their rivals face significant challenges: Borussia Dortmund's manager Niko Kovac has dismissed his team's title chances, while RB Leipzig's Martin Demichelis believes second place is realistic.
Leverkusen's New Manager
Leverkusen could be in a position to challenge Bayern if their rivals falter. The club appointed Carles Martinez as their new manager after impressing during his time at Toulouse. Martinez aims to emulate the success of Xabi Alonso, who led Leverkusen to the double in 2023/24.
Martinez stated, 'One thing I have learned a lot is to accept the reality – accept the place that you are at. In Leverkusen, it's normal that the brand of Xabi remains because what they did was amazing and we have to try to take advantage of a lot of things from that.'
Stuttgart, Hoffenheim, Frankfurt, and Freiburg will also vie for European qualification spots, but Bayern Munich is expected to maintain their stranglehold on the Bundesliga title.
