Bayern Munich’s Youth Talent Retention Plans
Many of Bayern Munich's promising young players are making waves within the club. Head coach Vincent Kompany has been closely monitoring several youngsters who train regularly with the first team and have secured loan opportunities, including appearances in professional football. However, not all of these talents will be ready for such a rapid progression just yet.
Erblin Osmani and Filip Pavić: Staying Put
Erblin Osmani, 17, and Filip Pavić, 16, are two young players who have been regular starters in the U-19s during the 2025-26 season. According to Kicker reports, both will remain with Bayern Munich for the upcoming season.
Erblin Osmani is expected to train with the senior squad and continue his development with the U-19s. Filip Pavić, on the other hand, might get a taste of professional training and could potentially play in the fourth division if he performs well enough. Given that Pavić has already trained with the U-23 squad under head coach Dante, there is a possibility he could make his debut at such a young age.
Wisdom Mike: An Uncertain Future
Wisdom Mike's situation is different from that of Osmani and Pavić. After starting the season strongly and making five appearances for the first team, Mike’s form took a significant dip towards the end of the season. He also suffered a serious injury late in the campaign.
Mike will have to prove his fitness before the transfer window closes at the end of August. If he regains his health, it is unlikely that he will stay with the youth teams for another season as he has already played for the U-19s, U-23s, and senior team last year. Should Mike be fit by then, it would not come as a surprise if he leaves the club on loan around transfer deadline day.
Bayern Munich is clearly committed to nurturing its young talents but will also make strategic decisions based on their current form and future prospects.
