FC Bayern Munich is set to lose goalkeeper Daniel Peretz. FC Southampton hopes to finalize the deal within this week. The 25-year-old Israeli was transferred to Southampton on loan in the winter after a stint at Hamburger SV, to gain playing experience. At the Isar, the goalkeeper has no sporting prospects behind top goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and his two deputies Jonas Urbig and Sven Ulreich. In Southampton, he flourished, became a fan favorite and performed well on the pitch. The 12-time national player has played 26 times for Southampton so far. Nine times he remained without a goal, 24 times it hit behind him. In Munich, his contract is still running until 2028. Peretz' current club has been making headlines in recent days and has been heavily involved in English football. The dream of FC Southampton and its German coach Tonda Eckert of returning to the Premier League has been shattered, however. The Saints were thrown out of the promotion final against Hull City due to the espionage affair. The club has also been docked four points for the next second division season.
