Bayern Munich's players have been photographed in traditional dress ahead of the upcoming Oktoberfest season. The squad posed together in lederhosen for a special team photo arranged with sponsor Paulaner.
The mood was relaxed following the 2-1 victory in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Borussia Dortmund. Attention now turns to the Bundesliga opener on Friday evening against VfB Stuttgart. The full schedule is available on our fixtures page.
New signing Ismael Saibari wore the traditional outfit for the first time. "I'm really looking forward to visiting the Wiesn with the whole team," said the midfielder. "It's important to me to get to know the culture of the city and the country where I play football."
Nathaniel Brown, who hails from the region, also commented. "Lederhosen suit me perfectly," the defender said. "As a native Bavarian, I've naturally been to the Wiesn before and know how important this festival is for Bavaria." Oktoberfest begins this year on September 19.
The team is now preparing for the first matchday of the Bundesliga. After the successful season start in the Supercup, they face VfB Stuttgart on Friday at 8:30 PM CEST. The traditional Oktoberfest visit with the entire team is a long-standing tradition for the record champions.
