Munich – Clear statement from Bayern's boss! FC Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen (58) has made his position regarding the necessity of keeping top Bayern players for title-winning potential clear during a press event at Marienplatz.
Dreesen emphasized that Jürgen Klopp can only demonstrate his winning intentions with the current squad: „I wanted to take away his concern he mentioned, which was that we might not have enough Bayern players in our lineup. I know Jurgen Klopp personally and believe that it's only possible to win titles with Bayern players. This wasn’t arrogance, this was a fact.“
Dreesen also addressed the speculation around Michael Olise (24), who is linked with Real Madrid but Dreesen is firmly set on keeping him: „Of course, he will stay! I have heard the question so many times from friends and acquaintances. This just shows how incredibly people identify with this player. However, no one suggested selling him for 200 million.“
Additionally, Dreesen dismissed any rumors of Luis Díaz (29) leaving: „I was aware of these rumors, but the truth is that there's been no call or anything from us. Would we be foolish to consider such a move? Honestly, we have an amazing team here. Let’s start the season and see what happens at the back if we focus on scoring goals.“
Dreesen also spoke about Vincent Kompany (40)’s role in guiding Bayern’s ambitions: „We can’t really think that we win every Champions League year, but that's our goal. That's what FC Bayern is all about: always wanting to win and securing any title possible. Vincent Kompany is an unassuming man with clear ideas of the game, a class-level central defender...
