Only days ago, reports suggested that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward Bradley Barcola might not extend his contract, which expires in June 2028. However, according to French newspaper L'Equipe, the 23-year-old has decided on a move to Liverpool and even held personal talks with new coach Andoni Iraola in this window.
Barcola's decision is mainly influenced by his sporting situation at PSG. He often starts games but has been reduced to substitute roles frequently, especially during key matches such as the Champions League semi-finals against Bayern Munich and the final versus Arsenal. This suggests that Barcola might be seeking a new challenge where he would have more continuous playing time.
Additionally, alongside Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea were mentioned in transfer reports regarding Barcola. Notably, despite Bayern's interest, L'Equipe and Fabrizio Romano both reported that Barcola is unlikely to leave PSG this summer due to contractual reasons. However, the Bavarian club is keeping a close watch on his situation.
If Barcola does decide to depart from PSG next season, the price tag could be substantial. PSG is demanding €150 million for the forward, which might lead Liverpool to consider offering Barcola another season in Paris at a lower cost before he becomes fully available post-2027.
With Luis Diaz also attracting transfer rumors, specifically Al-Hilal’s interest with an extremely high salary offer, it appears that forward positions are generating significant transfer activities in the current window.
