Munich - Bayern coach Vincent Kompany confirmed Jamal Musiala (23) will sit out the Supercup against BVB. The national team player collapsed twice in pre-season games against Leipzig (3:1) and Heidenheim (4:2), shortly after his substitution. After the second incident, Musiala posted on social media that he suffers from neurological dysfunction causing brief loss of consciousness.

After Absences: Medication Was Adjusted

Sport director Max Eberl (52) explained the two collapses were due to a change in medication. "The seizures occurred in a short time without any danger to Musiala," Eberl emphasized. The attacker needs time to adjust, to return to being seizure-free.

Looking Ahead: Musiala Wants to Attack Again

Musiala confirmed in a statement that he has coordinated with doctors and the club to continue playing football. "According to the experts' assessment, this is no risk," said the Bundesliga record goalscorer. The break against Dortmund is meant to help him fully recover. The Supercup on Saturday (20:30) is his next match.
