Commitment to Michael Olise
Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has clarified that transfer rumours regarding Michael Olise and Luis Díaz are unfounded, stating they have no intention of selling these players ahead of the 2026/27 season. At a press event in Munich, Dreesen dismissed the speculation as 'astonishingly far removed from reality.' He stated, ‘He has three years left on his contract, you understand?’ regarding Olise.
Dreesen's statement came after Olise impressed with 15 goals and a league-leading 19 assists during last season's title-winning campaign. His performances also included the notable achievement of breaking Pelé’s record for most assists at a FIFA World Cup this past summer.
Luis Díaz: The Future in Munich
Regarding Luis Díaz, who contributed 15 goals and 14 assists in his debut season, Dreesen is confident they will retain him. 'We’d be stupid, wouldn’t we? We have such a wonderful team,' he said, expressing confidence that the team can continue under Kompany’s leadership as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Both players are set to return to preseason training soon as Vincent Kompany continues his preparations for the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup match against Borussia Dortmund on 22 August.
