FC Bayern’s Jonathan Tah is urging his team to build on the successes of last season by maintaining the strong mentality and unity that characterized their performance throughout. The defender highlighted the importance of preserving the hard work and teamwork from the previous campaign as they prepare for a new season.
‘We want to pick up where we left off last season. We all felt it was a very special campaign, and that was because we worked hard on ourselves from day one and gave everything in every single match,’ Tah said to Sky Germany (as reported by @iMiaSanMia). ‘Even when things weren’t always perfect, smooth, or clicking, we always managed to stick together as a team and create an atmosphere that made us feel we could achieve anything. That’s exactly what we need to build on.’
Tah's comments reflect the culture developed under Vincent Kompany. While there were periods when performances were not at their best, the squad consistently found ways to overcome adversity through unity, resilience, and belief. This mentality proved just as important as tactical improvements.
With a new season approaching and fresh expectations, Tah sees continuity as key to further success. Rather than reinventing what worked, Bayern Munich are aiming to maintain the standards, togetherness, and work ethic that defined last year.
‘We need to orient ourselves towards the standards, the teamwork, and the work ethic from last season,’ Tah added. ‘If we can recreate this environment while continuing to improve tactically, we will once again expect to compete for every major trophy available.’
