Bayern Munich are preparing a mega-offer for Barcelona and Spain forward Dani Olmo. The transfer fee is understood to be over 70 million euros, despite head coach Vincent Kompany already having a well-stocked attacking midfield with Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise and Serge Gnabry.

The German record champions are reportedly ready to bid more than 70 million euros for the 28-year-old. Olmo, who played for RB Leipzig from 2020 to 2024 and won the DFB-Pokal twice there, has a contract with Barcelona that runs until 2030. A January move would therefore be a complex operation.

Squad situation and competition

The Olmo speculation comes as Bayern's attack has just rediscovered its form. In the 7-0 thrashing of Union Berlin on 18 September, several established offensive players like Musiala, Olise and Harry Kane were on the scoresheet. Olise is currently the team's top scorer this season with four goals in four appearances. The team's recent form reads two wins, one draw and two losses from the last five matches ahead of the next fixture away to FC Augsburg on 10 October.

Despite this in-house strength, the club's hierarchy appears to remain active in the transfer market. Besides Olmo, Bayern are also linked with Benfica's 24-year-old Portuguese centre-back Tomas Araujo. The injury situation and long-term squad planning can be tracked on our squad page.

Other rumours in focus

The rumour mill is also bubbling at other European top clubs. Manchester United are said to be keeping an eye on Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, while Liverpool and the Red Devils have shown interest in Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven. At AC Milan, the contracts of Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek expire next June, making departures likely.

For Bayern, the Olmo story remains the central one. The Spaniard would provide another creative option in central attack, where Musiala and Olise currently carry the main load. Whether the plans materialise into a concrete offer will become clear in the coming weeks. The next chance to see the team in action is the derby in Augsburg.
