For Bayern Munich supporters who have been living under a rock, the club has partnered with Los Angeles FC to form Red&Gold Football, which aims to provide a pathway for young talents from all over the world. To achieve this, Red&Gold Football either entered into partnerships or acquired a majority stake in clubs across South America, Africa, and other continents, adding to its list of partners.
All six Red&Gold partners, including Grasshoppers Zürich (a club where Los Angeles FC previously held a majority stake) and SV Elversberg (why they were there is unclear), gathered in Munich for the three-day Red&Gold Global Trophy. This prestigious tournament consists of 3 preliminary matches, a semifinal, and a final.
As in previous years, the FC Bayern Campus hosted the three-day Red&Gold Global Trophy. After Racing Montevideo (Uruguay) won the cup in 2025, this year's victory went to a mixed team of FC Bayern's U19 and U17 players who emerged victorious over Gambinos Stars Africa in a penalty shootout with a score of 4-2. In the preliminary round, the Munich side lost two matches against Grasshoppers Zurich (3-3) and Gambinos Stars Africa (0-0), but they secured second place in their group with a convincing 4-0 victory against Jeju SK FC on the second day of the tournament. In the semifinal, Leonhard Haas's team faced the winners of Group B, SD Aucas. Bayern prevailed over the Ecuadorians in a penalty shootout by 3-2. In the final, the U19 juniors faced Gambinos Stars Africa once again, who had defeated the previous year's winners from Montevideo in their semifinal match via a penalty shootout. As in the preliminary round, the final ended in a draw after regular time. Munich then showed nerves of steel from the penalty spot (4-2) and were ultimately able to lift the trophy.
