Bayern Munich has sold the final available share package in its professional football AG. The long-term club partner Viessmann is joining as the fourth strategic shareholder alongside Adidas, Audi, and Allianz.

The transaction brings the record champions a three-figure million sum. The exact amount has not been officially confirmed but is understood to be in the region of around 250 million euros. The entry is structured as a capital increase, meaning Viessmann will hold just under 6.7 percent of the shares in FC Bayern München AG upon completion. The stakes of the other three partners will each be diluted to just under 7.8 percent. As stipulated in the statutes, 70 percent of the shares remain with the parent club, with the four minority shareholders holding a combined 30 percent.

Supervisory Board to be expanded

CEO Max Viessmann, who already sits on FC Bayern's advisory board, is set to become a member of the AG's supervisory board. The body will thus be expanded from nine to ten people. "This step strengthens the ownership structure of FC Bayern München AG," said President Herbert Hainer. "Furthermore, a significantly improved equity base increases our room for manoeuvre in a time of permanent change."

Viessmann stated that Bayern is one of the most successful clubs in Europe with clear values. The company aims to contribute to a strong FC Bayern. The partnership between the club and the family-owned business has existed since 2018. The Viessmann family sold its core heating technology business three years ago and has since been seeking new investment opportunities.

The fresh financial resources come at a time when the club's sporting focus is entirely on winning the next title. In the Bundesliga, Bayern tops the standings with a comfortable lead. The squad under manager Vincent Kompany is now preparing for its next match in the fixtures list. The strengthened equity base provides greater flexibility for future projects and squad investments. The final step in the ownership structure has now been taken.

The agreement was finalized this week. The official registration of the capital increase and the new supervisory board composition will follow in the coming days. Viessmann's entry as the fourth strategic partner concludes a long-planned process to solidify the club's financial foundations. The capital increase from the new investor sustainably strengthens the AG's balance sheet. The funds are not earmarked for a specific purpose and can be used for strategic objectives in all areas of the club. This also includes the further development of infrastructure and digital transformation. The shareholding is intended to be permanent.
