Giulia Gwinn caused a surprise in a supermarket on Tuesday. The Bayern Munich and Germany star took on the role of a cashier at a Netto store for a charitable cause.
The event took place on September 15. Gwinn scanned items, handled payments, and chatted with surprised customers. "We were surprised...", the 27-year-old said about the reactions. The money raised will go to a charitable organisation.
Off-pitch commitment
Such initiatives highlight the player's social engagement away from the pitch. For Bayern's women, the season has not yet started, while the men's team recently continued their run with a 2-1 win at SV Elversberg. Harry Kane provided an assist and scored himself in that match. The men's current form and all upcoming fixtures can be found in our overview.
Gwinn, who is also captain of the national team, used the day for direct contact with fans. The unusual job ended after a few hours, with the player returning to her training routine. Her next official appearance for Bayern Munich will come with the start of the Frauen-Bundesliga season.
